Geef het maar eerlijk toe: je hebt er ooit wel eens over gefantaseerd hoe het zou zijn om een echte superheld te zijn. Bij de meeste mensen resulteert dit enkel in onschuldige dagdromen, maar wat nou als dit alles zich afspeelt in het hoofd van een schizofreen? Een mogelijk antwoord op deze vraag vinden we in een neptrailer die zijn weg naar het internet heeft gevonden.

De maker van dit voorproefje voor de niet-bestaande film The Batman Complex heeft beelden uit onder andere Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Inception en The Machinist gebruikt om zo een nieuw verhaal weer te geven. Hierin zien we Christian Bale als een geesteszieke die denkt het alter ego van Batman te zijn.

De trailer is hieronder te bekijken, en op zijn YouTube-pagina geeft de maker nog wat meer achtergrondinformatie. Zo gaat hij onder andere dieper in op het verhaal:

I wanted to focus more on the character aspects (and a bit of the tragedy as well), and attempt to move past the initial shock of the psychological twist. One aspect I tried to hint at was the paralleling descent of both Bruce and Cobb. As Cobb and the team go deeper into Bruce’s mind, they start to encounter the truly dark issues that his subconscious houses. As a result, Cobb himself gets caught up in the obsession of all that lingers in the mind of a Batman.
