Met de steeds beter wordende technologie neemt ook de kwaliteit van camera's in mobiele telefoons toe, waardoor filmmakers hier steeds vaker mee experimenteren. De Aziatische regisseur Park Chan-Wook maakte eerder al een film volledig met een iPhone 4, maar ook voor The Avengers is de telefoon van Apple ingezet om opnames te maken.

Director of photography Seamus McGarvey onthulde in een recent interview dat deze beelden daadwerkelijk in de film te zien zullen zijn, en dat ze zelfs al opgenomen zijn in de reeds verschenen trailer.

The beauty of photography or cinema is that you make every choice based on the content at hand. On The Avengers, I did a couple of shots on the iPhone and they are in the movie. In fact, they are in the trailer! I understand that sometimes there is no choice and you have to go for the cheapest option, but if you are limited for choice, you can still make poignant decisions that will effect the look of the film.

Om welke beelden het gaat is niet bekend, maar onderaan dit bericht kan je de trailer nog eens bekijken om te zien of je ze misschien toch kan spotten.

De film over het superheldenteam wordt geregisseerd door Joss Whedon, waarna The Avengers vanaf 26 april 2012 in de bioscopen te zien moet zijn.
